1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Origin Solar USA website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you must not use our website or services. These terms apply to all visitors, users, customers, contractors, and partners who access our platform.
2. Services Provided
Origin Solar USA provides residential and commercial solar panel installation, roofing, gutter installation, and battery storage solutions. Our services include but are not limited to:
- Free solar energy consultations and site assessments
- Custom solar system design and engineering (CAD)
- Permitting and utility interconnection (NEM/PTO applications)
- Equipment procurement and installation
- Roof repair, replacement, and gutter installation
- Battery storage system installation and configuration
- Post-installation monitoring and maintenance support
- Financing coordination with lending partners
3. Customer Obligations
As a customer, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information (property details, utility bills, identification)
- Ensure safe and reasonable access to your property for site surveys, installations, and inspections
- Obtain necessary HOA approvals, if applicable, prior to installation
- Make timely payments as outlined in your signed contract
- Notify us promptly of any changes that may affect the project (e.g., roof damage, property sale)
- Cooperate with utility companies and inspectors as needed for permit approvals and PTO
4. Contracts and Pricing
All solar installations, roofing, and related services are subject to a separate written contract that details the scope of work, pricing, payment schedule, and timeline. Key terms include:
- Project pricing is based on the agreed-upon system design and scope of work
- A deposit may be required to initiate the project
- Change orders or additional work (e.g., main panel upgrades, trenching, critter guards) will be documented and may adjust the total cost
- Payment schedules, including milestone-based payments, will be specified in your contract
- Prices are subject to change based on equipment availability and market conditions until a contract is signed
4a. Fees and Payment Methods
Origin Solar USA accepts the following payment methods for invoices and online payments:
- Credit / Debit Cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover. Card payments carry a 2.75% surcharge added to the invoice total to cover payment processing costs.
- ACH / Bank Transfer — Direct electronic debit from a checking or savings account. ACH payments carry a flat $1.00 processing fee.
- Check — Personal or business checks made payable to Origin Solar USA. No additional fee.
Online Payment Authorization. When you submit a payment through our online portal, you authorize Origin Solar USA to charge your card or electronically debit your bank account for the displayed amount (including any applicable surcharge or processing fee) as a one-time, immediate payment for services rendered. All online payments are processed immediately and are non-refundable except as required by law or where a billing error is reported within the applicable dispute window. These are single-transaction authorizations — no recurring or future charges will be initiated from an online payment submission.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
- You may cancel your contract within 3 business days of signing in accordance with California's cooling-off period (or applicable state law)
- Cancellations after the cooling-off period may be subject to fees for work already completed, materials ordered, or permits obtained
- Deposits may be partially or fully non-refundable depending on the stage of the project
- Any refunds will be processed within 30 business days of cancellation approval
6. Warranties
Origin Solar USA provides the following warranty coverage:
- Workmanship warranty — Covers defects in installation for a period specified in your contract
- Equipment warranties — Solar panels, inverters, and batteries carry manufacturer warranties (typically 10–25 years depending on the product)
- Roofing warranty — Covers materials and labor as specified in your roofing contract
Warranties do not cover damage caused by natural disasters, unauthorized modifications, negligence, or failure to maintain the system as recommended.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Origin Solar USA shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of our services or website
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you under the applicable contract
- We are not responsible for delays caused by permitting authorities, utility companies, weather, supply chain disruptions, or other factors outside our control
- Energy production estimates are projections and not guarantees — actual production may vary based on weather, shading, and utility rate changes
8. Intellectual Property
All content on our website — including text, graphics, logos, images, designs, and software — is the property of Origin Solar USA and is protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.
9. User Accounts and Portal Access
Certain features of our platform require an account. By creating an account, you agree to:
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials
- Notify us immediately of unauthorized access to your account
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
- Use portal features (project tracking, invoicing, support tickets) for their intended purpose
- Not attempt to access other users' data or circumvent security measures
10. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved as follows:
- Good faith negotiation — We will first attempt to resolve any dispute through direct communication
- Mediation — If negotiation fails, the dispute shall be submitted to mediation in San Diego County, California
- Arbitration — If mediation is unsuccessful, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.
11. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
